AI Overviews
AI Overviews use artificial intelligence to generate a summary in response to a search query. The AI draws on information from across the web and condenses it into a short answer. In Google Search, the AI Overview sits at the top of the page, above organic listings, featured snippets and paid ads. Other search engines have started offering their own AI-generated summaries.
AI Overviews come with drawbacks. They can surface inaccurate information, and they often reduce organic traffic because users read the summary instead of clicking through to a website.
