Session
A session is a group of activity that one person carries out on your website within a set period. From the moment someone arrives, everything they do, such as viewing pages, clicking links or filling in a form, belongs to the same session until they leave or stay inactive for long enough that it ends. In Google Analytics, a session times out after 30 minutes of inactivity by default, so if a visitor leaves your site open and comes back an hour later, that counts as a new session. Sessions help you understand how often people visit and what they do while they’re there, which is more telling than page views alone because one session can include many page views.
